Hi everyone I'm just going to talk to you about our main artefact and I will update you when I get the video. We made a minecraft world on what we think our city needs to look like in 30 years. In our city we have included a beach with people helping to clean it up and we also have added in hotels and big places because the world is overpopulating and healthier shops because we need to be healthier.

My PBL question is…  What will our city need to look like in 30 years in a minecraft world.

My ideas on this topic already are…  Doing a minecraft world of what we think a city will look like in 30yrs. Trying to stop people littering.  What will be in our world: Healthy shops because people are not eating too much junk food. Taller buildings because the world is already overpopulating. NO more rubbish in the ocean People cleaning up the beach

Volunteering

Hi everyone, today I am going to be talking to you about what we did in our hub for volunteering. We got the choice out of going to the curtain bank, the food bank or graffiti removal. I got to go to the curtain bank and I was also lucky to go with two of my friends. The curtain bank was a lot of fun, a lot more funner than it sounds. At the curtain bank they collect given curtains and they measure them and wash them if they need to be. Our job was to measure them out and put them in bags. They give free curtains to people that need them and get the money when the person that has the curtains can get it to them.

Narrative

Hi everyone, welcome back. In this blog I'm going to talk to you about My completed narrative. Remember when I made a blog about narrative planning, if you haven't seen it go check it out. Pretty much we had to plan and write a story about the future. Here is mine if you wanted to have a quick read:

The cars on the streets speeding past, hovering just above the ground with robots in the driver's seat.
Robots everywhere you go, in shops, on a construction site, working as surgeon and doctors in
hospitals. The sky filled with flying taxis and self driving planes above you all the time, self driving
trains in the subway every minute. Rubbish bins that take themselves out. Mailboxes that take the mail
inside for you and reading it to you. Self cooking ovens making you meals every night. At least 2 rocket
ships taking flight each week. Hi I’m Maxine but everyone calls me Max. I like hanging out with my
friends and I skateboard everywhere. Welcome to the future.

This afternoon my friends Mike, El, Dustin, Lucas, Will and I have the opportunity to fly in a fully
automated rocket ship! As a matter of fact we have just arrived at NASA. We open the doors and
dramatically strolled down the hallway to the control room. The control room manager Jim then
came to inform us that the ship is not prepared, it’s not even ready. They still had to do a final test,
finish off the control panel in the control room. Dustin is very tech savvy so he was a big help. Mike
was studying engineering so he was a big help as well. Lucas and Will helped out with the panel and
El helped out with finishing off the rocket with Mike. I went to go get snacks.

The rocket was finally finished and we got into our suits and before we left we had some safety lessons.
Then, blast off. We arrived at the space station with already at least ten people there and they were all
floating in mid air. When we got to the space station they gave us more safety instructions in case if
there were any emergencies. The first thing they told us was if our space station failed
(which isn’t likely, they said) that we would grab our suits that provides oxygen for 2 hours at the
least, they also told us, don’t always rely on the new technology no matter how cool. We then got
some dinner and went to bed.

The next morning we had breakfast and headed to Mars. It was amazing, there were little hubs
there with oxygen inside. Back onto the spaceship and flew back to the space station. At least,
that’s what we thought. We arrived and discovered whilst we were investigating Mars, the space
station had failed. We were lucky enough to even be alive, Will, El, Mike, Lucas, Dustin and I were
all stuck in a little ship with our space instructor, Joyce. We were all scared and panicking because our
radio wasn’t working and we couldn’t fix it, we were running out of food and all of our newly updated
technology isn’t working either. We had no way of communicating with the control room at NASA.

It was then four days after we were supposed to be back at NASA. We were all working on getting the
ship to work so we could get back to NASA. We got it to move a little bit a couple of times but what we
were doing just wasn’t enough. It took night and day to fix it but we couldn’t figure out what the problem
was. We didn’t have much energy anymore because it was like we only had one thing to eat a day
because we were trying to save our food and water sources as long as we possibly could until we could
actually fix the ship and get back to NASA, ASAP. We got to the point where we were about to give up
and having the worst attitude saying we’re going to die and that we should just give up. But we didn’t
we then realised don’t always rely on the new technology, no matter how cool. 

We put all the technology aside and we tore apart an old radio that all six of us bring everywhere we
went. We started working on a new potential communication device so that we could use to let NASA
and our families know that we are okay because we all knew that they were probably worried as well.
(especially our parents). It still took day and night for us to build the communication device but we had
to get it finished ASAP because our food sources were almost out. As you can imagine our energy
would be really really low because of lack of food, water and of course sleep we could hardly tell if it
was day or night, because the sun was always shining so bright, (I know I’m such a poet). Everyone
was exhausted and we could hardly keep our eyes open. 

Down on planet earth, our parents were worrying and were going to NASA every single day to see
if we had been back yet. (at least this is what my parents were telling me). Apparently they were
considering planning a funeral for all the people that had not come back yet. They were working at
NASA day and night trying to get a signal or some way to communicate with us. We couldn’t get
connected because we had torn apart the technology and still trying to make a better one. While
we were building our communication device the people down at NASA were rushing around trying
to get in contact with us.

We were finishing off our device and we may as well be out of food. We then heard a voice from the
radio, it was scratchy but it was working. We had just made a working communication device from a
few old walky talky radios. We were talking to our parents and letting them know that we were safe.
We then talked to the control room manager Jim Hopper and we told him that our ship was busted and
we couldn’t move. They re-wired a satellite to try and find our location to send a rocket after us. After
we had finished talking with them we had a rest and fell asleep just for a while.

When we all woke up from our rest we realised that the control room at NASA was trying to get ahold
of us because the satellite couldn’t find our ship. We had no idea how to fix this problem and we knew
that we couldn’t. All we knew was that we were starving. It was in no time that we had accidentally fallen
asleep again. When we woke up and looked out the window and saw a satellite, just sitting there
looking useless. Joyce rushed to the radio and informed them that there is a satellite outside our
ship, but when they replied back, it was definitely not the answer we were looking for. The camera on
the satellite that they were using didn’t show any ship, it was the wrong one.

We were all starving and fell asleep again and they were trying to communicate with us and trying to
tell us that the satellite had found us and there was a ship on the way. We didn’t wake up for hours
and hours, until we saw a bright light shining in the distance. It was the ship that was here to rescue
us and save us from dying of hunger. We had to put our suits on that provided oxygen for us while we
were up there. We got into the rocket and we were on our way home. Finally back to the best planet,
planet earth. But of course it just couldn’t be as easy as that. The communication devices were running
low on a special battery that they use for the new technology needs to run.

We left the device that we built in the broken ship and we used all of our radios to make it.
None of us were feeling well and couldn’t help ourselves but to throw up pretty much the
whole way home. We were all starving and eating like our lives depended on it because they
pretty much did. We still had to fix the communication device before we could get back down to
NASA. We still had to know where to land and if it’s safe to at that time. So just stopped for a little bit to try and fix it. Lucky we did and we were lucky that we could fix it in less time this time because
I was dying to get back with everyone again back at good old earth. 

It has been a few months now from the whole space incident and I am so happy to be back here with
gravity, happy with my family and friends, a lot had happened while we were gone. My grandmother
had unfortunately passed away, and my little brother had just turned one. It was definitely an experience
and I don’t think I will be going back to space again.

Winter sport

Hi everyone today I'm just going to be doing a little update on winter sport. Our team went to zones at Hagly park and won all of our games so we moved through to centrals. At centrals we were winning all of our games, right up to our last game which would determine if we would go through to the finals or if we would just play for 5th and 6th place. Unfortunately we did not play at our best but we did still go through and I think we placed 5th.
