Online Stanford course

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I'm going to be sharing my online Stanford course, no this doesn't mean that I put in an application for Stanford. This course is teaching us maths and showing us things that most of us didn't know and probably changed their point of view in maths. This course has 6 lessons that you have to complete, then you do a survey to see how much you liked it, how much you learned and how good it was for you. We also get a certificate at the end to see how we did.
I hope you enjoyed today's blog, let me know if you have ever done anything like this before and let me know if you are going to ask your teacher if you can do the course, until next time, BYE.

What will the future ask of us?

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog, today I'm going to be talking about our PBL for this term, which is... What will the future ask of us? So I'm just going to be talking to you about what we have learnt about this term which is just our first two days. So this morning we were watching a video of an A.I named Sophia. This A.I sang a duet with Jimmy Fallon, Sophia knows how to have a conversation and she learns of other people and downloads things into her system. Sophia also has a robot child that can speak English.

We were also learning about how in the future robots could take our jobs. Like instruction workers, cashiers or a farmer. I was really surprised that a teacher wasn't one of them. But we were also thinking about assistant teachers? There is a new robot that has come out that can put down around 800-1000 bricks a day.

I hope you Enjoyed today's blog, let me know if you are going to learn about robots. Until next time. BYE.

The three priorities were to do one maths task, one literacy task and one writing task.

Break out EDU

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. today I will be talking to you about break out EDU. Break out EDU is when you have i time limit I think of thirty seconds and there was a box that had six locks, the people that are running it had hidden clues before hand to unlock the box. Everyone works together to try and find all the clues. The break out EDU was based on wonder and my groups final time was 15 minutes and 30 seconds.
Thanks for tuning in and let me know down below if you have ever done breakout EDU before, until next time, bye.

Reading task

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. Today I will be talking to you about being my reading task. I'm am sharing my K.W.L (know, wonder, learn) we did ours on a book called underground soldiers, it's about soldiers having to be underground during world war 2. S here's mine:
K
What do I know?
W
What do I wonder?
L
What have I learnt?
That if they would have had to carry the dirt that they dug out at least a km away from the tunnel.
--------------------------------------------------------------
If someone were to find there tunnel and throw a carbon monoxide bomb they would have to rush out of the tunnel but be killed.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The war lasted four years which meant they were in there for a long time.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Without vitamin D your skin could get damaged and really bad eyesight.
--------------------------------------------------------------
What is there mental health like?
----------------------
Were they ever caught or close to being caught?
----------------------
How long do they have to travel to drop the dirt?
----------------------
Where did they go toilet?
----------------------
Where did they get the wood to hold up the dirt?
----------------------
Why didn’t the wood stay up?
----------------------
They have to carry around a mouse to see if it would get drowsy so that they would know if there was carbon monoxide.
-----------------------------------------------------------
The war lasted four years.
-----------------------------------------------------------
They had to carry the dirt a long way because if they just left it then the soldiers would find where there tunnel is.
-----------------------------------------------------------
That they couldn’t leave the tunnel because they would most likely get killed.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for coming back and let me know if you've ever done something like this before, bye.

I hope you enjoyed today's blog and let me know if you do tech, Bye.

Speech

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog, today I'm going to be talking to you about  my speech from a few weeks ago. We got to choose to base it on: sexism, racism, ableism and religious discrimination. I chose sexism so here's mine:

Did you know that one gender gets more attention even then the other even though they work at the same Job. Today I’m going to be talking about sexism. Pretty much what I’m trying to say is I want to talk to you about sexism and the way people show it, so let’s get to it.

Stereotyping, take a construction worker for instance or a pilot, they’re usually men right? Well that’s what people think at least Or like a nurse or ballerina maybe, you automatically think of  a man for a construction worker or a pilot and woman for a ballerina or nurse? That’s the thing, they can be a woman or a man’s job. Almost every job is unisex both women and men can work there, the people that just assume that is called stereotyping.

Sports, picture this, you’re sitting on the couch, flicking through the channels then you think, oh actually I want to watch rugby. So you change to that channel and you have two choices, to watch the all blacks or the black ferns, what one did you choose? The all blacks, right? You choose the all blacks over the black ferns when they both play the same sport, same rule book and the same country. The only difference is their gender. Did you know that one of the best rugby players in the world is actually a woman. Kendra Cocksedge has been awarded many awards, she was awarded the kelvin R tremain memorial player of the year and she beat All Blacks Richie Mo'unga, Brodie Retallick and Codie Taylor. What I am pretty much trying to say here is that girls should be on the same level as boys for anything and in this case, especially sports.

What strategies we can use to reduce it: Now I want to talk to you about how to we can reduce it and just some things to remember, first thing, if you see or hear someone sexist or even someone being discriminated, be an upstander not a bystander, a bystander is hearing or watching someone discriminating someone else or even just being rude and laughing a the person being discriminating. But an upstander is someone that says, actually say no that isn’t right, stop it. The next thing is that women’s rights are human rights, nobody should be treated differently because of their gender, through sports,

My point is just to be nice to each other even if the opposite person is the opposite gender, and if you do see someone being hurt be an upstander.

Thanks for tuning in let me know if you have ever done a speech on something like this before, see you next time, BYE.
