Duathlon

HI EVERYBODY, welcome back to my blogging world.
Today I will be talking to you about the duathlon, I didn't compete in it but I did help marshal, and I did have a  "special job" for the non competitors (the people with a buddy and just doing it for fun)  I got to lead them to there halve lap because all the people who did the non-competitive race are a mix of ages so they get a shorter race. Just so you know, it's not so you can win it, it's so you can have the great feeling after you do it.
Well I hope you enjoyed my blog and let me know if you have ever competed in a duathlon.
Until next time, BYE.

swimming lessons

Hey everybody, welcome back to my amazing world of blogging, Today I will me talking about swimming lessons, the first day we did two laps off freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke and then the next day we worked on our strokes and used flippers but when I took them off it felt super weird and it was definitely a lot easier with them. Unfortunately I missed three days of swimming because I went up to the north island to my cousins wedding but it was still really fun.the next week we did water safety.
The first day was learning survivor strokes, the next day was with a boat and then today (Friday) it was pyjama day.
well I hope you enjoyed today's blog and let me know if you have ever done swimming lessons or water safety. BYE.

Swimming sports

Hi everyone,
Welcome back to my blog.
Today I'm going to be talking to you about
swimming sports, I competed in freestyle, backstroke and relays,
I came first in freestyle heats and fourth in backstroke
heats and I think my relay team came third.
Unfortunately I didn't go through to zones but I'm sure I'll
do better next year.
I have improved a lot since last year but I still
think I can do better because there's always room for
improvement right?
well anyway, let me know if you have ever done swimming
sports before and if you have have you gotten a placing.
anyway until next time, BYE.

My elevator pitch

Bonjour everybody,
Welcome back to my amazing world of blogging.
2019 I'm a year 7! this year our project base learning (PBL) question
is what is greatness? Today I'm going to show you my elevator pitch,
if you are not familiar with an elevator pitch, to match our  pick somebody great
and write about them.
So here is mine:

What to include:

An introduction of the person you will talk about. Use a ‘hook’ to get people interested.
Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier. One quote from Mother Teresa
How was/is this person great and what they have contributed to society i.e. service, leadership, accomplishments, talents.
She is great because she would go around India and help people that are sick on the side of the street
What qualities did this person display that has lead to them being great? i.e. empathetic,  humble etc.
Mother Teresa was always so passionate in what she did and so kind and caring to everyone even if they were different
How has this person shown greatness in ways others haven’t? What has lead to them standing out?
Mother Teresa has shown
Greatness different then others because most people would just walk past everyone on the side of the road but mother Teresa  would actually take care of them and help them out
Why do you personally think this person has displayed greatness?
I think this person has displayed greatness by actually stopping and taking time out of her day just to be kind and help all the people that really need to be taken care of
Strong close/tag line - leave us with something memorable to think about i.e. quote, question….
  • Want to convince us to why this person is great.
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. That is one of Mother Teresa's meany quotes
Well I hope you enjoyed today's blog
and make sure you let me know if you have
ever done and elevator pitch?
Well I hope you all have an amazing day,
Bye.😀😀

MARKET DAY

HOLA, welcome back to my amazing world of blogging
This term our Project Based Learning (PBL) has been about design and the big question was; How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product?

First we learned what STEAM stood for.
S for Science
T for Technology
E for Engineering
A for the Arts
and M for Maths
Then we were given challenges. The first to make a chair using newspaper, string and straws that was able to hold a figure made out of multi-link blocks.
Then; make a table that was able to balance MnMs for the team. We were much better at the second challenge because we learnt from the first challenge what and what not to do
                                                                                Here is my Technology Template
In Literacy we learned to write up science experiments and to write a technology report using the design process of ask, imagine, plan, create, improve and share.

Our next step was to form teams and ask ourselves the big question again.
How can we use a Steam approach to make a marketable product? Our aim was to create enough products or experiences and sell it to raise money for charity.

My team made bowling with bubble bottles, you would bowl a ball and the first bottle you knocked over you got a lollie. Here is a photo.

My highlight from this PBL was actually making it and then selling them to make money for charity
Next time I would plan out my invention a little bit better.
Let me know if you have ever had a market day and hope you come
back next time.
BYE.

CENTRALS I MADE IT!!!!!

Kia ora koutou,
Hi everyone welcome back to my amazing world of blogging.
Today I will be sharing my story about centrals that's right I got
through for shot put, it was a little boring because I had to wait
4 or 5 hours for my event to start because it started at TEN PAST TWO.
But while I was waiting I got to draw and play with one of my friends,
I was number 83 so it took a while first I hear one next thing 27 then
53 then 77 and finally 83 I went to my event and unfortunately I didn't
come a place but I was still very happy with my throws and also happy
I got into centrals. That has to count as something, right?
Anyway I hope you enjoyed my blog post and let me know if
you have ever been to centrals and if you have what for?
e noho ra hope you come back.
BYE.
