Reading

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog, this blog is about positive and negative intent in an article. For this task we had sad and happy faces and we had to put them with either what we think a positive or negative intent, here is mine.

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you agree with what I have put, bye.

Maths

Hi everyone, this blog is about maths, this is the picture,

and these are some of the questions,

Using the image above, what is the ratio between the pedal gear and sprocket?

If you were to turn the crank 9 full rotations how many revolutions would the wheel do?

If one rotation of the pedal gear moves the bike 150cm, how far will the bike travel around the track if you did 5 full rotations of the pedal gear.

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you can figure out these questions, bye.

Which gear ratio would you have to pedal more as you go once around the bike track - 4:1 or 2:1, what is your reasoning?

Writing T3W2

Maths T3W1

Hi everyone, this blog is about maths. For this task we had to find out the area and perimeter of the hall and back field to figure out how much room there was for the bike track. First we did the perimeter and area of the back field without the hall, then added the hall the second time so we knew how much room we had with and without the hall for the bike track. Here is the measurements we had to work with,

Thanks for looking at this blog let me know if you like maths, bye.

Writing T3W1

Hi everyone, this blog is about Writing. For this one we had to highlight sentences the colour of the different fantastics, if you don't know what the fantastics are, go check out one of my previous blogs.

Here is some of the task:

Once upon a far away place lived a little girl who was given a very special present from

her grandmother for her eighth birthday. This present was opened with great enthusiasm

and excitement by the little girl and she tore at the wrapping paper wildly. It was

quickly revealed that the wonderful gift was a coat designed in a cape-like shape in the most

dynamic, remarkable colour the girl had ever seen. This coat was red, a bright, beautiful red

and was soft and warm to the touch. In one bold manoeuvre, the girl swept the

coat up and threw it across her back and pulled the hood up over her chocolate locks. I

don't think anyone can remember a time before the coat, but certainly since the coat, Jessica

was always known as Little Red Riding Hood.

Spring had grown slowly back into their lives and birdsong filled the silences in the air.
The sky had found its brightness, grey had turned into blue. Mother was outside in a battle with the wind trying to encourage the washing to dance on the clothesline. Her eyes watered facing the blustery day; Little Red Riding Hood could feel that something was troubling her. Mother collected the spare pegs and was blown back indoors. Her skirt whipped up into a windswept tent. Little Red Riding Hood caught her blurry stare, “Mother, are you alright?”

Maths T3W1

Hi everyone, this blog is about my maths for this week. This weeks maths was problem solving, I had a buddy and this is one of the questions that we had to figure out.
There are 360 students at St Francis of Assisi School, and 95 of these students are Year 7/8, Kaupeka. Do the Kaupeka students make up more or less than ⅕ of the students at St Francis?

First we worked out what 1/5 of the school was which was 72 and then we already knew that we had 95 students in the Kaupeka hub, so the final answer was yes, the Kaupeka hub is more then 1/5 of the school.

Thanks for coming back and having a look at this blog, let me know if you can figure out this question without reading the working out part, bye.

Maths

Hi everyone, this blog is about one of my maths task. For this task we had to pick 6 things we would do in lock down, put on a random wheel generator and made statements.

Thanks for having a look at this blog, let me know if you did any of these things during lock down.

Writing

Hi everyone, this blog is about my writing task. For this task we had to get a paragraph out of our report and fix up the punctuation, spelling and making sure it relates to what we are actually writing about.

Thanks for having a look at this blog, let me know if you think I made my paragraph better then the original.

Reading

Hi everyone, this blog is about one of my reading tasks. For this task we had to look at the front cover of the book and then predict what is going to happen just from the front cover and then read a couple of pages and predict again, then we read the rest of the book and said weather our prediction was right or wrong.

Thanks for having a look at this blog, let me know if you have read this book before.

Reading

Hi everyone, this blog is about one of my reading tasks. For this task we had to read two articles about fake news and then filled out this template using one of the articles we read. Here is my DLO.

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you learned something about fake news. Bye.

Writing

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog. This blog is about my reading task, for this task we had to write out what a report would look like for different age groups, I chose year 3/4 and here is my DLO.

Thanks for looking at this blog. Let me know if you have planned your reports like this before.

Maths

Hi everyone, this blog is about maths. For this task, we had to collect information (I chose sport and age) and make that into a scatter chart and then make statements about it. Here is my DLO.

Thanks for looking at this blog and let me know if you have made a scatter chart before.

Maths

Hi everyone, this blog is about my maths task. For this one we had to make a two way table to solve an equation. First we had to make up some information and when we finished the two way table we had to make some statements about it. Here is mine.

Hockey

Rugby

Total

10+

21

29

50

16+

25

25

50

46

54

100

  1. 10+ year olds are more likely to play rugby then 16+

  2. There’s a fifty-fifty chance of 16+ year olds to play rugby or hockey.

  3. 46 people that answered  for hockey and 54 for rugby.

Thanks for having a look at this blog, let me know if you have made a two way table before, bye.

Reading

Hi everyone, this blog is about one of my reading tasks, for this one we had to read a book (I read Harry's war) and then write down the three main features and how that made you feel.

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you have read this book before. Bye.

Writing

Hi everyone, this blog is about writing, for this one we had to write a short story about something and mine was about lock down.

Lock down

I am not liking lock down because my dad is making me do exercise every single day. And on top of exercise, I go for bike rides with my nana, and she goes for really, really long bike rides. During lock down, I have put all of my certificates up on my wall while I was bored and doing nothing. I also have been playing board games with my family because there is nothing else to do. And my dad is making us have limited screen time and that is half the reason why I actually play the games with them.

Thanks for looking at this blog, How was your lock down?

Writing

Hi everyone, this blog is about my writing task. For this one we had to make a poem using alliteration and similes. Mine was about music.

Music can be as sad as a rainy day,

but it could also be as good as summer at the bay.

Music makes me motivate myself,

Music might mean merry, moving maybe meaningful.

Rap, Rock, Reggae, RnB.

Hip hop, Hard metal, Holiday records.

Happy, Sad,

Good or bad.

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you like music, bye.

Reading

Hi everyone, blog is about my reading task, for this one we had to make a couple of notes about how to spot fake news. So, here is mine.

Thanks for looking at this blog and let me know if you have spotted fake news before.

Maths blog

Hi everyone, this blog is about equal adjustments, for this task all we had to do was do an equation using equal adjustments. Here is the equation I made.

7652 + 1990

    +10        +10

7662 + 2000 = 9662

Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you use this strategy. Bye

Maths task

Hi everyone, this blog is about maths. We got to pick out of a variety of data and I picked region and eye colour, the first thing we had to do was turn the information we had into a table,
BlueBrownGreenGreyHazel
Otago10001
Wellington11100
Canterbury21003
Auckland25001
Manawatu - Wanganui10000
Waikato01010
Bay of Plenty01000
West coast00101

Then we had to turn that into a graph,
Thanks for looking at this blog, let me know if you would have picked some kind of different information.
